１．Recruitment theme

１－１．Background and purpose of the recruitment theme

With the advancement of blockchain technology, digital assets and rights can be converted into units in the form of “tokens,” and their potential for use is attracting attention, especially in the content industry.
On the other hand, the rights obtained by holding NFTs have been unclear, so users have been unable to see the significance of holding NFTs. From the perspective of NFT issuers, there has been rampant unauthorized use of NFTs, such as utilization beyond the originally permitted scope. These issues have hindered the progression of NFT utilization.
In order to promote the use of NFTs for content, it is necessary to clarify the scope of rights obtained by holding NFTs and to improve the environment for dealing with unlicensed NFTs.

１－２．Related past initiatives and remaining issues

In the “FY2022 Project for the Promotion of Overseas Expansion of Content (Research Project for the Creation of a Creator Economy in the Web 3.0 Era),” the following issues remained.
- A mechanism to promote the use of content within the scope of the rights specified by the issuer, even when the content is used across multiple marketplaces or when derivative works are actively created
- Mechanism to promote the entry of IP holders
In the “FY2022 Project for the Promotion of Overseas Expansion of Content (Research Project for Promoting Distribution of Authorized Content in NFT Marketplaces),” the following issues remained.
- Methods for handling unlicensed NFTs, excluding removal requests
- Methods to eliminate malicious users/creators

１－３．Pilot project overview

Formulate guidelines to prevent use in violation of contract conditions, such as clarifying the scope of rights by holding NFTs.
Establish and standardize methods to clarify the scope of rights by utilizing blockchain, such as writing information in tokens, and verify methods for dealing with unauthorized use.
Furthermore, from the perspective of content IP protection, verify measures leading to proof of authenticity of NFTs.
In this use case, the reasons and expectations for the necessity of Web 3.0 and blockchain are as follows, and it is desirable that the demonstration project proceeds based on these considerations
- Because they enable traceability of content holders
- Because they enable smart contracts to be established for secondary use of content, and ensure transparency of transactions
